Field Note 03 · Use
Objects for ordinary rituals
A cup, bowl or storage jar begins with a task: to be reached for, held and used.

Most pieces begin with use. A cup meets a hand and a mouth; a bowl collects food; a jar keeps something close. Those small encounters are part of the design, not an afterthought.
Function does not make an object anonymous. Slightly different rims, a pooled glaze or an incised line can make a daily ritual feel more considered.
The aim is work that earns its place over time: useful, tactile and individual enough to be noticed again.
